After finishing a combined Masters and Dermatology residency at Auburn University in Alabama, I started the first private dermatology referral practice in Portland, Oregon. Within my 11 years in Oregon, I dealt with chronic skin and allergic conditions in dogs, cats and horses. I returned to the Ontario Veterinary College as an Associate Professor in Veterinary Dermatology from 2004-2013, and now have re-entered private referral veterinary dermatology practice in Southwest Ontario for dogs, cats and horses as well as a mobile practice covering Winnipeg and the Atlantic provinces. I have given Veterinary Dermatology presentations throughout North America, Europe and China. I have authored and guest edited publications in various small animal and equine journals and texts. Hobbies include horseback riding, skiing, wine tasting and cooking. My wife, two girls and I are actively involved in the Guelph and Western Ontario Region Pony Club and Pentathlon Ontario. Along with our three dogs, two cats and rabbit, we manage Roma Jade Knoll Stables with 4 of our own horses and several boarders.
Amanda is the welcoming voice you hear when you call our office! She graduated as a registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) from Georgian College and is always happy to assist with your concerns. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her horse and is experienced in clicker training. .
Warren Armstrong has been involved with veterinary practice since a very young age; starting out by following his father around the clinic on days off from grade school. Warren has trained and shown extensively in the hunter/jumper circuit in southwestern Ontario and gained valuable experience working in a veterinary research facility as well as different breeding farms one of which included the famous Winfield farms. When he is not assisting in the daily running of the practice, Warren is active promoting the development of diagnostic imaging tools, research and development. Some products include the development of 3D ultrasound, pre market testing of wireless digital radiography and investigating the potential use of endoscopic camera pills and prolotherapy in horses. Warren is a Society Member of the Veterinary Ultrasound Society, the CT/MRI Society and the Large Animal Diagnostic Imaging Society of the American College of Veterinary Radiologist as well as and inaugural member of the American Association of Equine Technicians.
